Together, justly so

Miri Elyatim, mother of nine-year-old Rom. Rom loves music, songs and dancing. He learns in a special-education school.

Today I know that there are solutions for our children, despite their weaknesses. Even if a struggle does not end in success, I know there’s someone who fights for me, helps me retain my strength, someone who goes through everything together with me, justly”.

Advocacy

AKIM-Israel fights for the preservation and advancements of the rights of mentally disabled people and their families through legislation, enforcement, promotion of rights and information services.

AKIM operates parents’ committees in hostels and provides families with the skills needed for them to represent their children’s interests. AKIM provides counseling and orientation to families on a variety of subjects.
